St. Joseph’s Church is accepting applications for the position of Director of the Pre-School until October 31, 2014. This is a full-time nine month position following the West Genesee School District calendar. The Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Pre-School including the hiring and supervision of staff, coordination of student services, fiscal management, compliance with all State health and safety regulations, ensuring a developmentally appropriate, faith-based curriculum providing preparatory skills for kindergarten.

A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred, a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required.

Music Director/Organist – St Joseph’s Parish, Camillus, NY is seeking applicants for a full-time position at this 1500 family member faith community. Applicants would be responsible for the comprehensive direction and decision-making process, in consultation with the pastor and parish staff, for liturgical music. The Diocese is seeking a Communications/Social media Specialist:

SUMMARY: To assist the Director of Communications with overall communications duties with a specialization in developing and implementing the social media strategy for the diocese


1) Work with the Director of Communications in carrying out the annual objectives of the office under the direction of the Bishop of Syracuse

2) Develop and maintain plan/strategy for diocesan internet presence to include social media, web and management of online groups

3) Work with diocesan departments to enhance their evangelization efforts through internet presence

4) Monitor and respond to all social media interactions

5) Assess new standards, technologies and trends and formulate plans for future enhancements to social media strategies

6) Perform continuous enhancements and modifications to blogs, websites and social media outlets

7) Provide metrics of traffic statistics, reports and future blog comment feedback to appropriate areas

8) Perform other duties as assigned


• Knowledge of the Catholic Church

• Knowledge and experience with Content Management Systems, Social Media Platforms, Photshop, Word, Powerpoint, Excel

• Knowledge of new media strategies and online communications

The Diocese is seeking (3) regional coordinator Youth and Young Adult Ministry:

SUMMARY: Provides coordination of youth ministry support services to parishes in the region. Works with the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry staff to support and develop comprehensive youth ministry in parishes.


1. Conduct regular visits to parishes to assess youth ministry needs and determine support services required for sustainable youth ministry in each individual parish in the region.

2. Conducts individual consultations with pastors and youth ministry leaders in parishes

3. Maintains database for parishes and youth ministry leaders in the region.

4. Plan and organize monthly youth ministry meetings hosted in parishes in the region

5. Assists in planning annual diocesan youth events hosted within the region and diocese.

6. Attend monthly staff meetings and works with staff on annual calendar and youth ministry support services for the diocese

7. Assist Director in reviewing and maintaining department budget for program areas under their supervision.


• Knowledge of Catholic Youth Ministry models and methods

• Ability to speak to groups effectively

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong computer skills (Familiarity with Social Media and cloud based software preferred: CMS, Project Management, etc.)

• Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting youth and families

• Valid NYS driver’s license and use of registered and insured vehicle

• Willingness to travel throughout the Diocese

• Current certification in diocesan child and youth protection program

• Active member of the Roman Catholic faith community and in good standing


High School Diploma (Associates Degree preferred)

3 years’ experience in the field of parish youth ministry
