National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 3-9, 2024, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education. It is also a time to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. NVAW began in 1976 when the U.S. bishops designated the 28th Sunday of the year for the celebration. In 1997, it was moved to coincide with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord until 2013. Beginning in 2014, NVAW was moved to the first full week of November!

By our Baptism, we have been called to praise God for His goodness in calling each of us to know, love, and serve Him. Let us thank God for the special gifts that He has given to each of us in a unique manner to proclaim the Gospel message, to serve the needs of the Church, and to reach out to those who need to hear about His special love for each one of us.We look forward to hearing how your parish celebrated National Vocation Awareness Week!National Vocation Awareness Week - November 3-9, 2024
National Vocation Awareness Week is almost here! If you are late to the game and still want to do something to make an impact, here are some last-minute, easy ideas to implement.
A. Ask your priest to give a homily about vocations or share his testimony at Mass on the weekend of November 2-3 or at the school Mass the week of the 3-9.
B. As an educator, you can access some of the free curricula for K-12 at www.vocationministry.com and pick and choose some of the most exciting activities.
C. Make sure you have banners/posters up to show everyone what this week is all about!
D. It is not too late to order prayer cards or materials to have in your parish book rack or classroom library.

Vocation-centered bulletin blurbs and general intercessions are here! The new Liturgical Year will begin on the First Sunday of Advent.
Please edit the bulletin blurbs with your office of vocations information and share them with the parish bulletin coordinator. The general intercessions probably need to be sent to the Liturgy Coordinator at your parish.
