Young adults in their 20’s and 30’s make up the largest demographic in the Catholic Church. These individuals are considered less religious than older Catholics. In response to this crisis of faith, the New Evangelization seeks to re-convert the already baptized through “new methods, ardor and expression.” To assist parishes in these endeavors, the Syracuse Diocese Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is offering grants to parishes, or groups of parishes (PCA’s), for the July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 fiscal year.
Funding has been allocated for grants that would support creative and innovative approaches that focus on evangelization to young adults ages 18-39 (18 year olds should be post high school). These are single year grants up to $5,000 in the first year of funding. Grants have the potential to be renewed for two additional years (each year will require a new application/proposal and approval). The application process is a competitive process and priority will be given to initiatives that can be replicated in other parishes.
How to Apply:
To inquire about applying for a Young Adult Ministry Heritage grant for your parish or PCA, please contact Kateri Lickona at 315-741-2389 or email@example.com.
All applications will be reviewed and applicants will be notified of any adjustments to be made to the grant.
It is expected that all funds received will be expended during the fiscal year. A mid and end of year update are required for each project that is funded. These reports must have documentation for all expenditures, i.e. monthly financial reports and receipts.
Disclaimer: Parishes will be invoiced for all grant funds not expended within the 2021 - 2022 fiscal year.
