The Office of Safe Environment is actively recruiting dedicated individuals to serve as in-person Safe Environment Facilitators. This volunteer position is essential in supporting our mission to provide child abuse prevention training throughout the Diocese of Syracuse.
To be considered for the role of Safe Environment Facilitator, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be age 21 or older;
Have current Safe Environment training credentials;
Submit a completed application with three (3) references;
Attend a full-day Safe Environment Facilitator training session.
The following dates have been scheduled for upcoming Safe Environment training sessions:
Saturday, September 20, 2025, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Chancery in Syracuse, NY.
Wednesday, October 1, 2025 , 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in Binghamton (location TBD)
Parking, mileage reimbursement, and lunch will be provided.
Important Deadlines
Request an application: June 15, 2025, to July 25, 2025
Applications deadline: Friday, August 22, 2025
References due: Friday, August 22, 2025
Telephone interviews: Wednesday, August 27, 2025 - Tuesday, September 9, 2025
