Safe Environment Week

Safe Environment Week 2022 1

The Diocese of Syracuse celebrated its 7th annual Safe Environment Week this past November. Safe Environment Week is a time to recognize our clergy, members of religious orders, employees, volunteers, and so many others in the community who work together toward a common goal: to prevent sexual abuse, not only in our parishes, schools, or agencies but also in our neighborhoods and communities.

On behalf of Most Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, the Office of Safe Environment, and the Diocesan Safe Environment Committee, we extend our sincerest gratitude to all who remain committed and vigilant in our collective efforts to protect our children, young people, and vulnerable adults from harm.

Stay tuned to see the winners of the Safe Environment Week Coloring Contest. Winning entries will be showcased throughout April 2023, during which the Diocese recognizes Child Abuse Prevention Month. This year's theme was #Grace: Loving others as Jesus loves me.
