The Diocese of Syracuse has worked tirelessly to put in place policies and programs to protect our most vulnerable from sexual abuse and create safe environments in our parishes, schools, agencies, and other ministries. Since 2003, thousands of adults have attended Safe Environment training and have undergone extensive criminal background checks.
As the Diocese celebrates its 5th annual Safe Environment Week, November 16 - 22, 2020, Most Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, along with the Diocesan Safe Environment Committee, and the Safe Environment and Victim Assistance staff, extend their sincerest gratitude to our clergy, members of religious orders,
diocesan employees, volunteers, and so many others in the community who continue to remain committed and vigilant in our collective efforts to protect our children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
